What is Manuka Honey and where does it come from? The Manuka Tree grows in the remote rugged isolated regions of New Zealand. The manuka tree is rich in essential oils in the leaves and bark, and the honey from the flower nectar. The indigenous people of New Zealand, the Maoris, have used the bark and the leaves of the manuka tree for centuries as healing remedies. The honey came long after as bees were only introduced into NZ in 1840. The Maori people used manuka honey to soothe wounds and gastrointestinal diseases. In the meantime, the rest of the world has come to recognize the amazing effect of Manuka honey against bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Manuka honey is produced by placing hives close to Manuka bushes in full bloom in the pristine wilderness of New Zealand. Some of these regions are so remote and rugged that they can only be reached by helicopter, so the hives have to be flown into these pristine virgin locations. The bees then fly to the flowers in the surrounding area. The aim is to produce Manuka honey that is as monofloral as possible, as bees generally harvest all the flowers available to them within a certain radius. What is the difference between Manuka honey and other honeys? Manuka honey has a stronger creamier richer flavor than other honeys. Manuka honey is a very valuable honey as it contains many times higher levels of methylglyoxal than any other honey on the planet. Manuka honey is knownfor its anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties. Methylglyoxal has the property to act an antibacterial against multi-resistant germs. Honey native to Europe contains around 5 milligrams of methylglyoxal per kilogram, whereas Manuka tree honey contains up to 800 milligrams. In general, Manuka honey is creamy in consistency and darker in color. The combination of FREZZOR Manuka honey with our UAF1000+ superfood plant extracts gives it a more earthy and tart flavor because our UAF1000+ are plant extracts from nature and they naturally have a bitter taste, so the combination of our sweet creamy Manuka Honey with our bitter UAF1000+ is very special, very unique, and very delicious. In terms of color, our FREZZOR Manuka Honey has a rosewood tone due to the addition of the UAF1000+ plant extracts. In addition, the Manuka bush may have white, pink or red Manuka flowers with pollen of varying lightness. Our FREZZOR Manuka Honey UAF1000+ is a 100% all-natural pure raw product, the shade may vary a little with each batch because our beehives are in different locations around New Zealand, but this does not affect the quality of the honey. What is the difference between monofloral and multifloral Manuka honey? Manuka honey can only be called "Manuka honey" if it is "monofloral", meaning most of the honey comes from the Manuka flower. Honey labelled "multifloral Manuka honey" comes mainly from other flowers but also contains a proportion of Manuka honey. For our FREZZOR MANUKA HONEY UAF1000+ we use monofloral manuka honey blended with Noel FREZZOR's proprietary UAF1000+ antioxidant superfood formulation. And for our FREZZOR MULTIFLORAL MANUKA HONEY UAF1000+ we use multifloral manuka honey blended with Noel Turner’s proprietary UAF1000+ antioxidant superfood formulation. What is it about the different factors of Manuka honey and what does UAF1000+ mean? Many customers are rightly confused by the multitude of Manuka honey factors and numbers on the market. We at FREZZOR New Zealand have thought about how we can clear up the confusion about the various factors when selling Manuka honey from New Zealand and therefore we let our beekeeper Murray Bush, whose family has been in the beekeeping business for over 100 years, gives us the answer directly. Murray explains the following to us: “All authentic certified NZ Manuka honey has special activity that makes Manuka honey incredibly unique and powerful as a superfood and skin care product. Currently there are five descriptions being used to identify this special Manuka activity along with various numbering systems, that are all correct in their own way, but confusing to consumers. A simple activity comparison is the Methylglyoxal level, which is easily compared with other activity descriptions using online comparison graphs. We use Methylglyoxal activity testing in accordance with MPI NZ Manuka Standards to authenticate our Manuka Honey. While very high activity Manuka is incredible for external wound and skin care, some people find it too harsh to eat. For everyday human consumption that still provides all the incredible benefits of Manuka, we recommend Authentic Certified Manuka Honey that has Methylglyoxal independently tested between 85 and 250. What is FREZZOR Manuka Honey UAF1000+ and FREZZOR Multifloral Manuka Honey UAF1000+ At FREZZOR we make it easy for our customers to understand what makes our Manuka Honey UAF1000+ different and unique. On top of Murray’s Methylglyoxal testing, we only offer CERTIFIED New Zealand Monofloral Manuka Honey and Multifloral Manuka Honey that is harvested, tested, bottled, and packaged in New Zealand, guaranteeing that it is genuine pure raw New Zealand Manuka Honey. Like all other New Zealand packaged Manuka Honeys, our FREZZOR Manuka Honey has been tested and certified by independent laboratories using MPI NZ Manuka Standards. MPI is the Ministry of Primary Industries in New Zealand responsible for regulating food products domestically and import/export. This certification of a Manuka Honey by MPI means that it has passed as genuine certified Manuka Honey. The New Zealand MPI test certifies Manuka Honey is “Certified Manuka Honey” based on natural compounds and DNA specific to Manuka. But that's not all, our founder and visionary Noel Turner has taken New Zealand certified Manuka Honey to a whole new level by blending it with powerful New Zealand plant extracts. Noel FREZZOR grew up as a third generation hunter, gatherer, fisherman, farmer, free-ranger and forager in New Zealand in the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s and has taken his proprietary UAF1000+ (Ultimate Antioxidant Factor 1000+) superfood formulation and blended it with certified New Zealand Manuka Honey. Noel has been using his proprietary antioxidant & polyphenol-rich superfood extract formulation in his green-lipped mussel oil anti-inflammatory products since 2008 and added these superfoods to his Manuka Honey products in 2015 to create FREZZOR Manuka Honey UAF1000+. This powerful prebiotic, probiotic, antioxidant "superfood blend" consists of seven potent extracts of blackcurrant, kiwifruit, boysenberry, grape seed, red grape skin, pine bark, and fulvic acid with which we fortify and enrich our certified monofloral and multifloral Manuka Honey. The result is a Manuka Honey pot packed full of anti-aging, gut & throat healing polyphenols, antioxidants, flavonoids, metabolites, probiotics, prebiotics, vitamins and minerals. Our FREZZOR monofloral Manuka and multifloral Manuka Honey combined with our UAF1000+ plant extracts are so powerful that we can call this particular manuka honey a nutritional functional medicinal food supplement.
I recommend keeping a jar of FREZZOR Manuka Honey UAF1000+ or FREZZOR Multifloral Manuka Honey UAF1000+ handy for your daily spoonful of this truly remarkable superfood, which can also be an immune-boosting, antibacterial support for you as a dietary supplement, especially during the winter season. INGREDIENTS Manuka Honey: Manuka honey is honey produced by bees feeding on the nectar and pollen of the manuka flowers of the Manuka tree. Traditionally used as a natural remedy, science has been able to prove the powerful natural antibacterial properties of New Zealand Manuka honey. Pine Bark Extract: Pine bark extract is a natural remedy and is extracted from the bark of the New Zealand pine trees. NZ Pine Bark extract contains over 80% of the active ingredient OPC (oligomeric proanthocyanidin) which is considered a powerful antioxidant. Pine Bark alleviates oxidative stress by increasing the production of anti-oxidative enzymes that scavenge free radicals, supports the immune system, and helps to fight infection and prevent autoimmune responses through a combination of antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant activity. Grape Seed Extract: Grape seed extract is rich in antioxidants, including phenolic acids, anthocyanins, flavonoids, and oligomeric proanthocyanidin complexes (OPCs). It contains up to 95% OPC's (oligomeric proanthocyanidins). Grape seed extract strengthens the immune system, helps prevent diseases, and protects against oxidative stress, tissue damage, and inflammation. Red Grape Skin Extract: Red grape skin extract contains the polyphenol compound resveratrol. This secondary plant substance belongs to the phytoalexins that contain antioxidant properties that neutralize free radicals, supports heart health and cholesterol level management, helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels, and prevent oxidative stress. Kiwifruit Extract: Not only is the kiwifruit high in vitamin C, but it contains actinidin which is a natural digestive enzyme that helps the body break down food into smaller components. The primary benefits of kiwifruit extract include support for the digestive function, eye health, and the immune system. Blackcurrant Extract: Blackcurrant extract contains a lot of bioactive substances including anthocyanidins which are strong flavonoids that have an invigorating effect on the body. Blackcurrant extract possess powerful antioxidants, antibacterial, and antiviral properties that enhance immunity and protect your digestive, circulatory, nervous, and excretory systems. Boysenberry Extract: Like blackberries, boysenberries contain a spectrum of powerful nutrients. These are characterized by a high density of phenolic acids. Boysenberry extract contain high levels of anthocyanins and current research has linked anthocyanins to improved eyesight, reducing inflammation, protection from cardiovascular disease and from the effects of ageing. Fulvic Acid: Studies have shown that Fulvic Acid promotes the uptake of energy-rich molecules necessary for the cellular metabolic processes to absorb and use other nutrients and facilitate theremoval of cellular waste and toxins from the cells and mitochondria and simultaneously regulate how our cells utilize things like antioxidants and electrolytes for slowing down aging, improve digestion, and protect brain function. Studies now show that fulvic acid has antioxidant, neuro-protective, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
